Cascade, Malabrigo, Cashmere, Oh, My!

UPS and FedEx have made daily stops at the shop this week. After the big Early Bird sale, we needed to restock and get ready for the holiday knitting season.

90lbs of Cascade came first. The wall of 220 is back to its colorful self.

We have beautiful colors in Kid Seta.

As well as more Baby Alpaca Chunky and 128 Superwash.  I'd show you pictures of those yarns, but the batteries on my camera died right after I took the Kid Seta picture. You see, Peter and Connor committed a major camera borrowing faux pas by returning it with no juice. I had tons of spare batteries at home, but none with me at the shop where I had planned to spend the day photographing all the cool new stuffs.

I promise to take pictures tomorrow. In the meantime, you should know that we have new books, more Knit Kits, a new shipment of Malabrigo Worsted and Chunky, new Spunky Eclectic sock yarn in both Tough Sock and Shine, and something perfect for the gift giving season - pure cashmere lace! Details on that when I have the pictures to illustrate.

Since I didn't have shots of the yarn to share, I thought I should update you on my knits. This past weekend I cracked and started a new project - the Raindrop Lace Socks from Fiber Trends.

I'd been eyeing the pattern for ages, and then the Dream in Color Knitosophy yarn arrived. The blues of Bold seemed perfect for raindrops. The pattern is an easy 4 row repeat that you can quickly memorize. I knit up the first sock in a day and a half. (It didn't hurt that the yarn was fabulously squishy soft in my hands.)

On Monday I blocked my Starry shawl.

Love, love, love the sparkles!!

My major knit in rotation is the Talia vest in 128 Superwash for our Vest KAL. I am approaching the neckline shaping. Since it is a bottom-up pattern, taking pictures of progress to date was a little challenging.

A few nights ago, I slipped all the stitches on to a string so I could check the sizing. You can't tell from these pics, but it is actually fitting perfectly. I have high hopes that this will be a piece I can wear all winter.
