Knit at Night was very special this week as 2 dear friends returned. Patti, who left for Canada, and Wendy who now resides in TN, couldn't have coordinated their visits any better.

In true TKE style, we welcomed them back with a party and cake.

Karen, of Bowdoin Baking Co. treated us to another fabulous creation:

Baby Jordan inspected the crowd and helped mom knit.

Cheryl modeled her beautiful new top knit in Hempathy. The pattern? Buttercup - a free download on ravelry.com.

Mary Ellen finished an adorable hoodie out of Cascade 220.

Diana has been lacing like crazy. I love the green angel wings.

Bridget is knitting something with legs. I'm not sure what, but I thought the legs were too cute to pass up.

Peggy is almost done with the body of her Pioneer. Yay Peggy!!

David is on a store sample making roll! He just finished a sock from Wendy Knit's Toe Up, and now is working on the Swell hat from knitty.com, using Cascade 220.
The first attempt came out a bit small. The recommended needle size is a US 5. David, as well as many other knitters, have found that this produces a toddler size hat.

On the second attempt, he increased the needle size and added an inch or so to the depth of the hat.

As I was merrily snapping pictures around the room, I noticed something interesting. Many of the projects looked like this:

Seems we have an impromptu KAL happening. Everyone is making an Ilene market bag. That's what happens when you have a fun, quick pattern, that produces something terribly useful.

Thanks all for a wonderful night!
