The past few days have been filed with happy surprises.
First - because I know you've been waiting for it - the Summer Interweave Knits is here!

There is some gorgeous colorwork and lace patterns in this issue and I have my eye on a few patterns.
Yesterday was filled with happy surprises.
My best friend from grad school, Brad, was in town on business and came over for dinner.
We treated him to the family chaos, and he humored my blog picture needs.
Earlier that day, Anna had brought these lovely roses to the shop for Becka and I as a special thank you for the Harlot roadtrip. Thanks Anna!!

In the mail, I discovered this touching gift from Wendy.

A purple boob. Thanks Wendy! How did you know that was exactly what I wanted? It seriously brought tears to my eyes.
The knitted knockers are incredibly important to me. I can't begin to express the emotion they bring up in me. You can read the story behind the boobs HERE.
Lately, our supply at the shop has been running low. I haven't had enough to donate to the local hospitals, and a very small selection for those breast cancer survivors who come in to find a prosthesis. And they do come. They may not knit, but somehow they have heard about our donated knitted knockers, and are hoping we can help them feel a bit more comfortable and self confident. I guess I'm saying, if you have a little knitting time, some double points, and yarn, consider making a knitted knocker. We'll see that they get to someone who really needs it. (Click HERE for the pattern.)
